AI agents are moving beyond chat — and this week made it clear just how quickly the race is accelerating.
In Episode 116 of The AI Files, Jaime and Shadab break down the biggest AI stories of the week, starting with Meta Muse, a new personal AI agent designed to actually take action across apps — browsing the web, filling out forms, sending emails, booking travel, making purchases, and continuing to work even after you close the app.
We also dig into the growing debate over AI safety after former Anthropic and OpenAI researcher Jacob Coxon resigned with a stark warning about the race toward increasingly capable AI systems.
Plus:

The bigger question running through all of these stories: As AI models become cheaper and more capable, does the real competitive advantage shift from the model itself to agents, tools, data, distribution, permissions, and the ability to safely take action?
Join us as we separate the hype from what actually matters in another packed week of AI.

Jaime and Shadab had a pleasure of hosting Dora Boussias, an award-winning Data & AI leader with nearly three decades of experience driving transformation at organizations including GE, Stryker, and Prudential.
Dora talked about what separates organizations that create real business value with AI from those that get caught chasing what Dora calls the “buzz du jour”. We talked about several relevant topics and this is the highlight of our conversation.
1. Speed is not strategy.
There is enormous pressure right now to move faster with AI.
Launch the pilot. Build the agent. Deploy the technology. Keep up with competitors.
But moving quickly without clarity around the business problem, ownership, decision rights, measurement, risk, and adoption can simply help an organization make the wrong decisions faster.
As Dora put it, organizations cannot shortcut the fundamentals on their way to the shiny new thing.
2. A portfolio of AI pilots is not the same as AI transformation.
POCs can show what technology is capable of.
The harder question is whether AI becomes integrated into the way the business actually operates.
That requires much more than models and infrastructure. It requires strong data foundations, cross-functional alignment, accountability, adoption, AI literacy, and organizational change.
Otherwise, you may end up with an impressive AI solution that simply sits on the shelf.
3. Leaders should be data-informed, not blindly data-driven.
AI can process enormous amounts of information and uncover patterns that humans could never analyze manually.
But there is another kind of data Dora calls “head data”: the experience, organizational context, intuition, relationships, and nuance that may never appear in a database.
AI might tell you the mathematically optimal decision.
It may not know that your team is exhausted, that organizational dynamics have shifted, or that there is context the data simply does not contain. The strongest decisions increasingly come from combining AI insight with human judgment.
4. The person who agrees with AI the fastest may be the most dangerous person in the organization.
Fast answers are becoming incredibly easy to obtain.
Critical thinking is therefore becoming more valuable, not less.
Leaders still have to challenge assumptions, ask questions, validate conclusions, connect the dots, and exercise discernment.
Accepting an AI answer quickly does not make someone AI-native.
Sometimes it simply means they stopped thinking.
5. AI will amplify whatever already exists inside an organization.
Strong foundations can become stronger.
But unclear accountability, disconnected teams, weak judgment, poor data, and bad processes can also be amplified and scaled much faster.
That is why Dora believes AI won't necessarily replace leaders. It will expose the gaps in leadership.
Perhaps the real competitive advantage in the AI era won't simply be who has access to the best model.
Most organizations eventually will.
The differentiator may be who develops the judgment, culture, trust, discipline, and organizational clarity to use these technologies well.
A fantastic conversation about AI, leadership, data, trust, transformation, and why keeping our human edge may become even more important as AI becomes more capable.
What do you think: As AI gives us faster answers, will sound judgment become one of the most valuable leadership skills?

A humanoid robot just ran 100 meters faster than Usain Bolt’s world record — but that may not even be the biggest AI story of the week.
In Episode 114 of The AI Files, Jaime and Shadab break down another massive week in artificial intelligence, from humanoid robotics and physical-world AI agents to custom AI chips, open-source models, enterprise agents, and the rapidly expanding AI infrastructure race.
This week we cover:
🤖 China’s World Humanoid Robot Games, where the Tiangong Ultra robot reportedly ran 100 meters in just 8.64 seconds — faster than Usain Bolt’s 9.58-second human world record.
💰 Nvidia’s staggering $96.2 billion quarterly revenue as AI compute continues to become one of the world’s largest infrastructure markets — plus reports that Nvidia may acquire Hugging Face for $12.9 billion.
🦾 Anthropic’s new Model Hardware Standard (MHS), designed to let AI agents safely discover and control physical equipment including robotic arms, microscopes, manufacturing systems, and even quantum-computing hardware.
🌶️ OpenAI’s new Jalapeño inference chip, built with Broadcom and designed to deliver faster AI inference with better performance per watt while reducing OpenAI’s dependence on Nvidia hardware.
☁️ Salesforce and Anthropic’s new “Claudeforce” partnership, bringing Claude directly into Salesforce workflows with agentic CRM capabilities and dozens of prebuilt sales skills.
🧠 Z.ai revealing that the mysterious Ox Alpha model is GLM-5.3-Flash, a massive open-weight multimodal model with a million-token context window.
🎙️ Google launching Gemini 3.5 Transcribe for real-time and recorded speech-to-text across more than 85 languages.
🍎 Apple unveiling the M6 and M5 Ultra, pushing significantly more AI compute and enormous unified-memory capacity onto the desktop.
⚖️ Alabama subpoenaing OpenAI as scrutiny around autonomous AI-agent safety moves from policy discussions into formal legal investigations.
And Bill Gates delivers our Quote of the Week with a stark warning: AI could become either “the greatest equalizer ever invented” or “the worst source of injustice.”
We also take a closer look at Hugging Face — often described as the “GitHub of AI” — and why its position at the center of the open-source AI ecosystem makes Nvidia’s reported acquisition interest such a consequential story.
The bigger theme this week: AI is moving beyond chatbots. Models are increasingly controlling software, enterprise workflows, custom silicon, robots, scientific instruments, and eventually the physical world itself.
